Birmingham Footmad (Friends of Old Time Music and Dance) sponsors monthly dances at the YWCA downtown, and other special dance and music events throughout the year. Dances are held on the second Saturday of each month, except May through August. Warm-up sessions begin at 7:30 PM, dancing at 8 PM, ending around 11PM. Admission is $8 for non-members, $6 for members and college students, $4 for children aged 13-18, free for children 12 and under. Newcomers are given a coupon for one free dance when they return. Dancing partners are plentiful so we encourage you to ask, it you haven’t met someone. Children are welcome to participate or visit our reserved play area.
